Myakka is one of the oldest and largest State Parks in the country and offers some of the most beautiful aspects of Florida Wildlife from wetlands, prairies, hammocks and pinelands. It sprawls over 58 square miles and 29,000 acres filled with tropical plants, animals, trees and exhibits. There is so much to take in at this park, offering visitors the option to stay long term for camping trips or to simply enjoy a day of hiking trails or kayaking on the river. Scenic lake tours are offered daily on the world’s two largest airboats. Offered at the park for those who plan a long term stay are the historic palm log cabins built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1934 to 1941. Although there is ample amount of room in the park to stay more simply with a tent and small campsite to enjoy the splendors of Florida living in its most natural form. There is much to explore with treetop canopy tours, boating, fishing, picnicking, historical sites, wildlife viewing, etc .View creatures of all kinds from the American alligator, Great Blue Heron, Eagles, Hawks, Armadillos and so many more!
